About Yadkin Memorial Park

Yadkin Memorial Park at Lake Hampton showcases a reservoir & recreation area. Lake Hampton is 140 acres of beautiful water that is an excellent area to fish or simply float and relax on your kayak, canoe, or boat. Fish in the lake include crappie, shellcrackers, brim, Largemouth bass, and Channel catfish. You can also take your boat well over a mile back up South Deep Creek, which feeds into Lake Hampton. The park also features nature trails, a dog park, disc golf, picnic shelters, a campground, and a fun playground.

General Information

Shelters are free to use unless they are rented. Shelters can be reserved for your special occasion. Also, see the shelter calendar to see if a day you are interested in is available. Please note, the calendar may not be in “real-time”. Please contact our office at 849-7909, ext. 3 to verify that your day/time is available.

Rates

Large Shelter

  • $75 refundable deposit
  • Yadkin County Resident: $50/hour with a 2-hour minimum
  • Non-Resident: $100/hour with 2-hour minimum

Small Shelter

  • $75 refundable deposit
  • Yadkin County Resident: $20/hour with a 2-hour minimum
  • Non-Resident: $20/hour with 2 h-hour minimum

Yadkin Memorial Park Boat Rentals & Fees

  • Fees
    • Single vessel launch: $5 per vessel
    • Boat Launch Season Pass: $25 per vessel for Yadkin County residents, $45 per vessel for non-county residents.  These boat passes allow you unlimited boat launches for a year
  • Rentals
    • Single Kayaks $5 an hour or $30 for a day
    • Double Kayaks & Jon Boats $10 an hour or $40 a day

The last available time to rent vessels is 1 hour and 30 minutes prior to closing. Rent is hourly and vessels are required to be off the water 30 minutes prior to closing. Life jackets and paddles are provided. View a copy of our Vessel Rentals & Fees.

Yadkin Memorial Park Duck Hunting

There are 6 waterfowl blinds on Lake Hampton, one of which is handicap accessible. Duck hunting application fee: $5 (you must be a Yadkin County resident to apply) Duck hunting blind fee: $30 (limited to 3 people per blind, non-residents of Yadkin County must be accompanied by a Yadkin County resident in blind.)

Yadkin Memorial Park Campground

The Yadkin Memorial Park Campground is a new addition to our facility! This attraction features 7 primitive campsites, one of which is handicap accessible. This attraction is perfect for families wanting to explore the outdoors this spring and summer! If interested in camping, please stop by the office at the Park and pick up a rental agreement.

  • Rental dates are only available Thursday, Friday, and Saturday night(s).
  • The campsites are walk-up camping.
  • You will have to park near the bathhouse then walk to your site.

Yadkin Memorial Park Rules

  • No gas-powered motors
  • No fishing from the bank
  • No cleaning of fish at the park
  • No alcohol or drugs
  • No swimming
  • No intentional rolling of kayaks
  • Dogs must be on a leash
  • No dogs allowed in the water
  • No boats allowed within 150 feet of the water intake
  • No hunting except Park sponsored hunts (no field dressing allowed)
  • Boats are limited to 14 feet maximum length
  • Canoes and Kayaks are limited to 17 feet maximum length
  • No loud music
  • All NC Laws must be followed, including NC Wildlife rules and laws
