Tanglewood Festival Of Lights

Tanglewood Festival of Lights happens every year in Tanglewood Park. This one-of-a-kind experience allows you to drive through this stunning park, listen to Christmas music, take a wagon ride, and view more than a million brilliant lights in this Winter Wonderland.

About Tanglewood’s Festival Of Lights

Tanglewood Park’s rolling hills, golf course, fields, stables, and trails transform each holiday season into a Winter Wonderland with more than a million twinkling lights, animations, and displays. For 30 years, the Festival of Lights at Tanglewood Park is open nightly from 6-10 p.m. starting in early November through the New Year. Visitors can drive through the park or take a horse-and-wagon ride while listening to original compositions from the UNC School of the Arts students. Changing every year with new displays view more than 80 fun scenes along the winding park’s paved route.
For your experience at the Festival Of The Lights to be even more immersive, visitors can tune their radios to WMAG-99.5 FM to hear holiday music as they drive, featuring original compositions from the UNC School of the Arts Music Technology students. This music is timed perfectly to the park’s interactive musical displays. For the most enjoyable experience, park officials recommend visiting the Festival of Lights early Monday through Thursday evenings because Friday through Sunday evenings and just before Christmas tend to be busy times when long waits are expected.
