Yadkin County, NC

Yadkin County is located in Northwest North Carolina. As of the most recent census, the population was just over 40,000. The county seat is Yadkinville, NC. Yadkin County is wonderful because it encompasses farmlands and the foothills of the Brushy Mountains with ample kid-friendly parks, schools, and businesses.

Yadkin County Education

Yadkin County has three wonderful high schools: Forbush, Starmount, and the Yadkin Early College. The Yadkin Early College is a five-year program where high school and college courses are offered on the Yadkin campus of Surry Community College.

The county also houses eight elementary schools. The eight elementary schools are Boonville, Courtney, East Bend, Fall Creek, Forbush, Jonesville, West Yadkin, and Yadkinville Elementary.

Yadkin County Parks & Recreation

The Yadkin County Parks and Recreation Department was established in 1972 with the goal of providing activities, events, and facilities to meet the needs of the people in Yadkin County.
Today the Parks and Recreation Department of Yadkin County has grown to include 4 unique parks and a blue-way with three river access points. The county has the following kid-friendly parks at your disposal:
