About The Playground Area
Finch Park is special because it keeps re-inventing itself. A staple of the Lexington, NC community, Finch Park boats premier mountain bike trails, greenways, shelters for rent, ball fields, a basketball court, and two playgrounds. The playgrounds have the following features:
The New Finch Park Playground
- A three-story structure with unique coverings to keep the harsh sun away
- Artificial turf to keep shoes and equipment clean
- Ann inclusive whirl where children can wheel themselves onto the spinning ride and play with other kids
- Slides galore. (5 total slides, 2 are completely enclosed)
- Multiple climbing net structures with platforms to climb and see everything
- A rock-climbing wall structure
- Merry-go-round that holds up to 6 kids
- Handicap-accessible features
The Original Finch Park Playground
- Multiple small slides and fun turrets
- A swinging bridge for kids to cross
- A tic-tac-toe and spinning toy to interact with
- Multiple climbing structures that test your agility and balance
Picnic Shelters
Lexington Parks and Recreation has 5 shelters at Finch Park that are available for reservation. These shelters have grills, nearby restrooms, electricity, and varied seating numbers.
