It is conveniently located in the Heart of North Carolina approximately 70 miles from the capital Raleigh, and Charlotte. Bicentennial Park is a beautiful green space park situated in the center of downtown that showcases a variety of concerns and special events. One of the largest attractions in the state (and Asheboro proper) is the world’s largest natural habitat zoo! The North Carolina Zoo delivers fun with family and friends, face-to-face animal encounters, enchanting outdoor art, glorious gardens, and is considered an international leader in wildlife conservation. Asheboro Kid’s Attractions
- The North Carolina Zoo: The North Carolina Zoo is located on wooded 2,600 acres centrally located in the heart of North Carolina, just south of Asheboro in Randolph County. With 500 acres developed, it is the world’s largest natural habitat zoo and one of two state-supported zoos.
- Asheboro Skate Park: The skate park is located adjacent to Memorial Park, located at 825 South Church Street in downtown Asheboro. The park is a combination indoor/outdoor facility. With over 2,500 sq. ft. of interior and 7,500 sq. ft. of exterior space, there are 10,000 sq. ft. of skating surface!
- North Carolina Aviation Museum: The North Carolina Aviation Museum and North Carolina Aviation Hall of Fame display a collection across two hangars of static aircraft, uniforms and memorabilia, and an extensive collection of aircraft models. Nearly all aircraft on display are privately owned and on loan.
