High Point is home to some well-known Triad greenways with the Bicentennial and High Point Greenway running right through area neighborhoods and business districts. In terms of trails, High Point offers 6.6 miles of natural surface trail through the hardwood and pine forest, and lakeside habitats. The Parks Division of the High Point Parks and Recreation Department is
responsible for maintaining the cities 37 parks and greenway system. High Point is also working with nearby cities in the Triad to try and connect as many greenways to be able to let cyclists and runners run from Winston-Salem to High Point, and Greensboro NC as well.

Bicentennial Greenway (14.5 Miles)
The Bicentennial Greenway is a combination of off-road asphalt and sidewalks that runs through residential neighborhoods, pine and hardwood forests, parks and more. It connects to both shopping areas and schools. It’s open to non-motorized usage, and birding is an exciting activity on the greenway, especially around the Piedmont Environmental Center at the greenway’s southern end. Creekside Park Trails (2.8 Miles)
The Creekside Park Trails run for almost 3 miles in Archdale and lead through residential areas and community hotspots, making this a perfect greenway for kids and families. The greenway is made up of three sections:
- The mile-long Cedar Trail section of the system begins in the Trindale Forest neighborhood and carries travelers by Creekside Village. It passes through a tunnel under Main Street, and heads to the Archdale Public Library, finally ending at Creekside Park.
- The Green Trail starts at the Creekside Recreation Center and creates a loop around it. The trail also passes by outdoor fitness stops and equipment. A spinoff on the west side of the greenway leads to Alison Lane and sends riders/walkers to the Courtland Park neighborhood.
- The Blue Trail connects to the Green Trail and runs to the Archdale Senior Center near the sports fields.

The High Point Greenway is a 4.5-mile paved trail beginning at Armstrong Park and ending at University Park. The trail connects to parks, which double as access points, including Armstrong Park and University, to schools, and cuts right across the High Point University campus. This trail has several crossings so proceed with caution, as well as one underpass at Centennial Street. The greenway features:
