Keeley Park Playground

Greensboro NC's Keeley Park just completed the Up in the AIR (Adaptive & Inclusive Recreation) playground. It is the city’s first fully accessible playground and the largest inclusive playground west of Raleigh.

Keeley Park Playground Features

This multiple-acre Keeley Park in Greensboro has miles of paved pathways, a bike pump track, disc golf course, fitness track, community garden, picnic shelters, sprayground, and of course a brand new accessible playground for kids of any ability to enjoy. Not only is the playground accessible but other features of the park are also accessible by those in a mobility device:

  • Cornhole
  • Parking
  • Paved walking trails
  • Picnic shelters
  • Restrooms
  • Sprayground
  • Stocked Fishing Ponds and Pier

The Up in the AIR (Adaptive & Inclusive Recreation) Playground

When it came to adding a new accessible playground to the city, the city of Greensboro installed many inclusive play elements, such as the merry-go-all, a tower accessible to those in mobility devices, and sensory panels like the hypnetic spinner. Keeley Park is a National Demonstration Site for Inclusion because of these new additions.

This spectacular playground features many play elements to address the needs of every child:

  • Six slides
  • Five spinning elements
  • Three zip lines, including accessible seats
  • Cargo nets and hillside climbers
  • Swings for children of all abilities, including GameTime’s ExpressionSwing
  • Multiple climbing areas, including climbers with interactive sensory play elements
