Madik Playground

A nonprofit organization Make A Difference in King (MADIK) has constructed a community-built all-inclusive playground, Madik Playground. Featuring a wheelchair swing, sensory items, therapeutic swings, a wheelchair-usable merry-go-round, and much more, it is an addition that we are proud to present to the public.

About Madik Playground

Everyone’s Playground is located at Recreation Acres in King, NC. The community built million-dollar playground was constructed in 2017. The Make a Difference in King (MADIK) group helped to fundraise and champion for this inclusive and one-of-a-kind playground. It is a park and playground where children of all abilities can experience joy. It is essentially an outdoor classroom to learn music, the arts, history, and geography while bonding with family and community.

Surrounding the playground are several benches and a few picnic tables in the shade. The playground structure itself is in the sun with no shade yet if visiting shortly after a rain or in the morning, the structure can become slippery.

The playground is not accessible by wheelchair as the whole base is made with wood chips. The restroom is a short walk away across the bridge (right next to the track).
