About The Tanglewood Park Playground(s)

Tanglewood Park is the former estate of Will and Katherine Reynolds (Winston-Salem royalty). Now it has been turned into a public park, Tanglewood offers fishing on two stocked lakes, pedal boats, tennis courts, an Aquatic Center, picnic shelters, rental venues, trail systems, horse stables, gardens, golf and most importantly…playgrounds.

The first you will encounter is adjacent to shelter #4. The great thing about this is if you plan a birthday party or event at Shelter 4, you get the added benefit of a playground for entertainment. It features two different playground structures. One for larger children and another for smaller children. It has several slides, bridges, tunnels and climbing elements. Behind the playground, you will find a sandbox, tire swing, and multiple regular and bucket swings to enjoy. It can be very hot on sunny days so plan ahead and maybe stop here on cooler days or seasons.

There is also an additional children’s playground next to Mallard Lake. Adjacent to the lake you will find a far more shaded playground that features a fantastic rock wall, suspension bridge, 4+slides, climbing structures, picnic tables and additional swings. As mentioned above, this playground is suitable for hot/sunny days due to the shaded and forested nature.
