Ice Skating In The Triad
Below you will find our favorite ice skating rinks, pop-up ice skating opportunities, and skating options both indoor and outdoor in Winston-Salem, Greensboro, and High Point, NC. Ice skating can be a special activity for families and kids to enjoy time together, especially around the holidays. Whether you are helping teach your child to skate or want to enjoy the experience of skating outdoors, we have you covered.
Graham’s Ice Skating Rink
Join Graham Recreation & Parks at Downtown Graham’s Ice Skating Rink for this 3-week event held annually in November and December! This event features an outdoor synthetic ice skating rink and multiple special events. Real ice skates are used on synthetic ice. Skate rentals are free. Maximum of 40 participants on the ice during regular sessions.
Session Times: 45-minute sessions begin on the hour (see Operational Hours)
Ages: 3 & up (figure skate sizes: 9T – 10, hockey skate sizes: 9T – 13)
Cost*: no cost for skating or skate rentals (*cost for Monday’s “Reserve a Session” & Thursday’s “Skate with the Characters”)

Greensboro Ice House
The Greensboro Ice House is open year-round and offers skating to the public, youth and adult hockey, learn to skate classes, figure skating, birthday parties, day camps, group outings, and more. The facility also has two birthday party rooms and offers seasonal events year-round and during the holidays.

Kernersville Ice Skating
Take the ice skating fun outdoors in Kernersville! The Kernersville Ice Skating rink will open in late November. Do note that the ice rink will be closed on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.
Tickets: $5 for 30 minutes of skate time (includes rental).
Hours of Operations:
Tuesday – Friday: 4 p.m. – 7 p.m.
Saturday: 11 a.m. – 7 p.m.
Sunday: 1 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.

Mayodan Ice Skating Rink
Join the town of Mayodan all of December at the Jake Atkinson Park. The price is affordable and includes your skate rental. Skating is open to all ages. Concessions, photo ops, horse-drawn carriage rides, kids’ activities, music, birthday party rentals, and more will be available. Don’t know how to skate? Skate trainers will be available for $5 per hour.
Tickets: $12 for 1 hour 45 minutes

Piedmont Winterfest
Piedmont Winterfest is a temporary ice skating rink in LeBauer Park that is open from mid-November to late January each year. They have multiple special days and skating opportunities including:
- Every Sunday is Sunday Family Fun Day. Come skating with your family or friends. All families of 4 or more receive $2 off coupons for a return visit.
- Each Monday is Chick-fil-A Day. Mention Chick-fil-A Day and get $2 off regular admission! (exclusions apply)
- Wednesdays are WFMY News 2 Night. Mention News 2 at the ticket shed and receive $2 off the regular price. (exclusions apply)
