Greensboro Aquatic Center

Featuring 105,000 square feet of space, 4 pools, and a $19 million price tag, this facility brings together all major aquatic sports, competitive swimming and diving, water polo, synchronized swimming, and other year-round swimming all in one venue.

About The Greensboro Aquatic Center

The Greensboro Aquatic Center opened in 2011, and since then it has emerged as one of the top aquatic facilities in the nation. It is a state-of-the-art facility and is located on the campus of the Greensboro Coliseum Complex, making this area of Greensboro your one-stop shop for entertainment and sports. At the time it was built, the aquatic center cost nearly $19 million. The Greensboro Aquatic Center brings together almost every major aquatic sport (competitive swimming and diving, water polo, synchronized swimming, and more, all in one venue). The GAC offers Greensboro the opportunity to host high school and collegiate events, USA Swimming meets, U.S. Masters Swimming, and U.S. Water Polo events as well as many local and regional swimming events.

Kid-Friendly Aquatic Center

Not only does the GAC host huge events, but it also serves Greensboro families and kids as a community pool open to GAC members and guests for swimming and lessons throughout the year. In addition to open swimming, they offer swim lessons, water fitness, exercise classes, and other swim instruction. The Greensboro Aquatic Center partnered with Guilford County Schools in a curriculum-based ‘Learn to Swim’ program that has drawn national acclaim. The Center also serves the community as the practice facility for several local clubs, high school, and college swimming and diving teams.
